How Long After Diagnosis Of GA Does It Typically Take To Lose Your Central Vision Without Treatments Such As Injections?
Hi Donna, Getting old certainly is a bummer, but I've outlived 3 of my brothers and my father, now working on over 93 when my mother died. Sure miss her. I'll type this little poem about thr "Golden Yeaars"
THE GOLDEN YEASRS are hear at last,
I cannot see, I cannot pee.
My hearing stinks, my memory shrinks,
No taste or smell, I look like hell.
The Golden Years are hear at last,
The Golden Years can kiss my ass.
That seems to spell it all out for us. Hope it gave you a laugh.
It's a new drug for geographic Atrophy. It was approved by the FDA in 2023. Supposed to slow the vision loss from GA. I sure hope it works
I'm sorry you had a fall. I fall about 4 times a year. So far haven't broke anything. Getting older is a full-time job b, isn't it?
I hope you feel better
Hi Donna, Well, like you, I also live alone and have no one to help me with anything. In all my years of injections, I've not heard of Syfovrel and I don't know the difference between that nad the Evastin that I get, but will find out. I missed my injection this week since I took a bad fall and couldn't even get out of bed.
The eye injections that I'm taking are relatively new (2023). It's called Syfovre). It's been proven to slow (although not stop) the progression of GA. Have you ever heard of it?
I do get the eye injections. My second one is Nov. 23rd. I just like to gather all the info that I can get from all sources. I also use the internet for news. I will be getting the injections every month for as late ng as the Dr. thinks I need them. I live alone also, and will be 71 next month. I have no family here, a few friends but no one too close. Hope we can stay in contact. Have a good day!🤣😃
